I've been looking around for a couple of budgie breeding cages/boxes to go in the shed part of my new aviary. Unforuntaely i've not had much look and spotting 12 cage fronts ending soon on ebay i foolishly purchased them. Before i have a go and make a complete mess of it i thought i'd ask if anyone had a guide to successfully building there own boxes.

Many thanks,
Hayley.

Hi,
I did the same as you and bought some fronts off of ebay, i only got six though but. My fronts were 24inches by 15inches and they had a wooden frame around the edge, so what i did was to make a frame out of two by two you could use smaller but i found that it was difficult to screw together and split etc. Then all i did was nail plywood to the sides and bottom and then screwed the fronts on and that was it really.

Thanks i think that would be the best plan, hopefully they will be here early next week so i'll nip down to the wood yard and see what i can pick up.

You can upload pictures to the gallery, you just can't post then directly into threads until you've made 15 posts ;)
