Nice looking fungi there Mick ... I wouldn't suggest tasting them ... they is mighty suspicious looking !

Great flowers & bug Daz ... I suppose the Zoo would have been miffed if you stole a flower & the bug included ?

As for your walkin with the gators Sigrid ... was there any gator "piles'' to watch ? Or were you more concerned with the gator making your walk a fast run ?

Yes, I was watching a pile:D - a nest. It is above the gator in this picture.

OH man ... such a shame ! I love the noises baby crocs & alligators make they sound so amazing. I guess you couldn't hear any calls when you were there ?

haha! I was actually in the house when I took it. It was so funny as it was at mums and I was just aahing and ooohhhing and mum was just going, 'Oh no, there's a mouse in the garden, I don't want a mouse in the garden'!! (she lives opposite farmers fields so guess it had come from there!).:)

I'm totally amazed at the flowers still blooming, they're not supposed to! LOL, at least not at this time of year. Was definitely the coldest morning of the winter so far though, and it didn't warm up much at all during the day. I wonder if the kids will get lucky and actually see real snow again this year??

LOL, they'd love that :D Last time they saw real snow was back when we were living in Norway, which means Courtney hasn't ever even experienced it. They had a few millimeters of snow last year, lay on the ground for all of 5 minutes then it was gone again :p

NN - just told my daughter you have snow in Toronto and she asked can you send some to BC please ?- still no snow there yet and B/F over there waiting to start work as soon as snow on the mountain - let it snow , let it snow, let it snow. She didnt apply for a visa so relying on B/F wages and her savings to keep them out there for 4 months :eek:

Yes - on second thoughts this is indeed good news NN. She will have to stay - however she has paid her return flight and the Scots blood in me thinks 'what a waste'. Mind you B/F is renting from a guy who does special effects - so he may get some stunt work :D( instead of Im a lumberjack and Im ok )- or is it all computerised these days LOL

Thank God my son does the lawn mowing. It's the shrubs, trees, etc that are growing like weeds with the rain and then sun that I have to prune. I feel like a lumberjack these days... It's actually kinda fun because I do the pruning and make 'the boys' chop and pick up after me (There's no evil face to post here; just imagine)

Put it this way Mick it took me an absolute age to photograph it stays at one flower for a second or so fliting to the next just as you get in the lense bang gone so its watching with eye and another through the camera, then focusing, but as the sun was so bright i could have it on iso 80 and my fastest shutter speed 2200 i think, my wife was taking the p@@s there he goes again pics of bloody flowers, i understand why its called a humming bird moth its wings are as fast

It's been raining so much here & has been so cool in Toronto. All the flowers we planted early spring died. DROWNED.

The girlfriend & I picked out all the dead white/green stems & leaves & left the planters alone & thought '' oh well ! we tried. "

This morning I looked out & low & behold ... I found this !

GREEN THINGS .. possibly carrots. I didn't plant carrots ... but who knows !

Pearson International Airport ( formerly known as the Toronto International Airport ) Deer get killed at the Airport every week. If they aren't getting killed on the runways ... people like me are hitting them with their cars ! :eek:

YES ... I am sad to say I have KILLED deer with my car. Twice. Once in my own car & once in an Airport Limo going to the Airport.

Poor Bambi's MUM. She bounded across airport road & smack into the car. Bambi's Mum was shot by the cops & put out of her suffering. ME ? I ended up in the closest Hospital covered in Bambi's Mum's blood with a HOOF print on my forehead. I was sad & pissed off.

Missed my flight ! ... didn't get a refund.

The wierdest part was when one of the officers comes up to me when they were loading me in an Ambulance & asked me if I wanted the deer to take home to clean & freeze the meat. I looked at the car which was a total write off ... the blood & deer fur all over the windshield glass ... & I thought ... OH YA. This venison will prolly taste really tender !

HELL NO I DON'T WANT IT ... Duh.

The ambulance drivers asked if they could have it.

I lol'd at that ... They were serious. After they took me to the Emergency in Etobicoke. They went back & got the deer & loaded it into the back of someones car trunk & they took it home.

FREAKS !

Oh no NickNack... that's quite a tale you've got there! I've always been scared of a moose coming out at me when driving in Canada land but never seen any deer.

I think the worst affected are the poor skunks... you can smell them on almost any highway! :( I know they smell but they are cutes! :)
They really pong don't they? My corgi, Seargent, got on the wrong business end of one... lol NOT pleasant! :)

I brought the deer a large bag of Austrian carrots and they didn't know the difference, they are staying here in the woods and will remain safe from airport taxi drivers ;)

LOL ... Traah, Moose are scarce & far away from us in the City. And you won't see them up near the airport. But there are still tons of deer in the city. In the middle of the City & on the out skirts.

The only place you will encounter moose is in the bush. And even then you will have some hunting to do ... to get close to one.

I don't mind the skunks. Yes they pong ... but its interesting to smell them & know they are still here in the middle of the City.

I'm happy you are spoiling your deer with Austrian Carrots & they are safe in the woods over there !

This is bad ... this is a strange plant called Kudzu ... it will wrap & cover anything in its way ... fences, cars, houses, kids toys in the yard. The kudzu loves the weather Toronto has been having & the damn stuff is thriving. I've torn it down weekly & still it creeps up. The worse thing is ... this plant is not MINE ... it is growing from someones yard 3 propertys away. It has already attacked & covered allot of property.

It pulled the tv cable off the house last week & the Cable Company had to come & reinstall the line. LOL ... We had some fun pulling this damn weed off the fence & away from the house. I looked out yesterday & look ... its already made a come back & ITS WRAPPED AROUND THE NEW CABLE LINE .. ACK ! :eek:
