What are your thoughts on the content of the current BS mag, and the format it now takes? PersonallyI feel it is very user friendly and the content over recent issues has been excellent:)

I have not yet rejoined the BS so have not seen the magazine for many years, however, George Booth gave me a copy of the last one the other day and I was surprised to see how it has changed. One feature that caught my eye was the list of new members - I'll beon the next one then!

Its top class, taken up with more bussiness this month because of the AGM but a good read, the list of new members is a good thing despite me been at the bottom of the list;)One thing I dont like is the stars they use to try highlight news/pictures, cheapens the photos imo

As not been getting it that long cant comment on previous layouts but i do like the layout and content, yes there is the boring stuff from the agm but it has to be done, i dont suppose their are many members read the finnancial bits just a quick look thats it, as i did.
As the mag is bi monthly just a thought maybe the reports from the AGM could be done as an extra issue after the AGM as a bonus copy with a major guest article from overseas exhibitors for the members to read so not to get the report from the meeting and not give it a second look.Just an idea to throw out there.

BS magazine like Wellensittich Welt are very good reads, with very nice photos. But in BW photos are terrible.

The features i enjoyed , i want to read about other BS breeders .The BS news page is very imformative.Countrywide news is always a good read and it keeps us all in touch with each other. The New members page is ideal for the local societies to contact newcomers ( do they do that ?)
Always a good read for me is Dr Baker and an avian vet article in each edition would be most welcome.
all in all a good publication.

Hi Mick

I actually like the mag better than the Beano

I have enjoyed some mags more than others only because something caught my eye like this month Hockaday gave info on show prep

The Pics are good of the various birds esp when you see them blown up in a glossy mag

Around the regions and specialist are informative

Mr / Mrs Editor if online
Thanks

Ed

as always a good read good pics good info i'm impressed with the new members list from a club point of view it helps contact local new members to inform them of local events.i do like the breeder features a lot its interesting to see pics of birdrooms the birds and to basically find info on breeders from wherever they come from.

The number to call is 01604 624549.

Hope this helps;)

Thankyou very much Mark, James and Barrie. I will give them a ring tomorow and see what I can find out. So their are 2 magazines, a budgerigar society magazine and a budgerigar world magazine. Maybe I should get both?
I've been reading a few posts latley and I can gather that their is plenty of excellent information in the magazines aswell as articles from some forum members.

Ive just re-joined the BS after a 2 year break and was pleased to see my name appear in this months issue welcoming new members.

This morning a very nice letter arrived from Patsy, the secretary at the Rochdale budgerigar society, having seen my name in the BS magazine, she wanted to invite me down to their next meeting , Im going to get in touch later today and join up. All down to the BS magazine.

Yes Mick i believe he lives round here, i think i saw him at my local health club,
at least i think it was him , i didnt want to ask as we were both naked in the changing rooms at the time.

might see him at some of the meetings if he,s a member at Rochdale, then again i might not recognize him with his clothes on.

( PS I don,t make a habit of hanging round the changing rooms naked, and just in case you were wondering i was there with my wife)

It took me ages to find a gym where all the blokes are fatter than me, (haha)

it,s a health spa really and all the fellas get dragged there by their wife,s

part of the trade off for me keeping budgie,s.( you,ve gotta keep the wife sweet.):)
