do they have to be in or out of a show cage mick ?

I will judge the bird Mark not the cage, so I really do not mind. I can only judge from your photo so get a good pose, quality of photo's will not be a consideration.

Sorry Mick ... I'm out. The local Bar doesn't like photos taken of their drunk patrons. It's too bad too .. cause they are funny to see when they try to perch !

Hi

I have 2 Show Cages with a door in the front
This allows a better shot of the Bird
Can these be used instead of trying to take a Pic through the Bars

This Pic is an example of the Pic you can get with the door open

Sorry Ed, see new rule change, you would have an advantage over those without a photo cage and as Mark says you get a better prospective of the bird in a cage.

You guys should read the rules, we have a learning curve here and if I keep giving you answers at this stage you wont learn. Read the entry and rule change bit and you will know what to do:)

No wacky, it's only a bit of fun, I have learned a lesson, I did say one bird, i assumed (wrongly) that it would be seen to mean one picture, no worries, i will judge what is posted and next time will be more explicit with the rule;)

Ok Guys, had a good long look at the entries, and I am going to award the cinnamon hen of Mark Gulleys, a good size hen carrying all the features I like in an exhibition budgie, good size, shoulder, great deapth of mask and great angle on the perch. I have to say there was some very good entries, but not alwayss easy to judge the without them being in a show cage, take Dan L's cinnamon pied, could easily have been a contender, but difficult to see it the bars are breaking due to the front on pose. Thanks for your efforts guys, I hope we can have another soon, where we may have to be a little stricter on the rules;)

Well done Mark, and don't forget them pasties:eek:

It will be soon Mark, I think I am going to have to limit it to birds in BS show cages, and with a side on view, maybe 2 images each exhibitor, one showing the bird in profile and the cage it'self and a cropped version of the same image showing the bird in close up. What do you guy's feel.

Hang on Ed, I have not even decided on the competition yet, it maybe a barhead, it may be an adult, it may be a hen class, it may be a colour class. So it could be any bird, anytime, any colour, so hold your horses, and go and bake some pies:p:D

yes i feel at least 2 images of same bird minimum will give an a better chance for you to judge it, needs to at least have the perch in the pic id say to show deportment etc and at least one good closeup id show an example of what youd like mick to make it easier for us a pic speaks a thousand words lol
