Al has made some time to start coding the new breeders directory so I just wanted to ask for opinions on what each listing should/could have.

So lets say initially for the UK it broken down by Counties and then most importantly Towns and then to the actual breeder.

What info should the breeders be able to enter that you would liek to see, some would be optional info so for example we could allow Address but the breeder woudln't need to put that in if they didn't want.

Name:
Email:
Phone:
Type of birds bred:

Suggestions?

Also just thought....

Possibly tick boxes for
Exhibition or Pet Budgies or both so that users can search specifically for exhibition budgies if needed.

As for the directory I think you have all the bases covered apart from price, maybe colours-some buyers are very choosy.

The beeders directory is coming along pretty nicely now. I could do with a few sample records that contain at least the post code, anybody?

hi scott i believe we need to mark the breeders and the show breeders,i noticed some from stoke on trent listed on a post that would expect a higher price than the pet owners would expect to pay.

I have still to heat back from Al on that one, I know he has a lot on just now but hopefully sometime soon the coding will be done and it will be over to us to fill in details.

You can add breeders now, it's not the neatest of interfaces but it works. Navigate to the correct turn then follow the add link at the bottom of the left hand side.

It should only take one attempt so must be something simple.
When you get the 404 error page not available what is the url in the address bar at the top, ie what page/link are you going to that isnt there?

ian

Sorry and thanks Giorgio, Emanuele and everybody else that has provided feedback. I'm hoping that everybody has the exact same problem so fixing it for one will fix it for all (fingers crossed).

Sorry for the delay with this. Problem found and fixed so you should now be able to add breeders in any town. It will also display the nearest breeder automatically which as the database is pretty sparse (to say the least) could be many miles away.
