This weekend I went to a Seniors Home to visit with 2 lovely friends who are like Parents to me.
I love to see them & often bring my laptop as I have asked them & their friends to be the JUDGES of a few Budgie Competitions we host here on the Forum each month.
I can hook the laptop up to a view enlarger which shows the forum LARGE & CLEAR on a big screen. Easier for older eyes ! Immediately people wanted to know about the Forum & its purpose. I have spent countless hours telling & showing these people about All of YOU & your budgies !
They soon wanted to see more pics ... not just the Competitions as I've shown them.
They were amazed at pictures of Spicky Davies lovely budgies. Anna Njaeanna's Birds & Mick Freakley's Show Budgie pics, to name a few ! This all caused quite a bit of excitement.
They enjoyed viewing the different birdrooms & the adventures of Mick Freakley & Pals who were on road trips to Judge Shows in Scotland & elsewhere as well as '' The Sink thread '' & '' The Shoe Thread '' & the '' Lovely Diana of Lesvos Blog '' which was a huge hit as well as the '' MEMBERS Pictures '' of Flora & Fauna & Critters & the Forum Mascots.
They found the photos beautiful & loved the entertaining banter we shared while posting.
So ... Thank You to all for making this place an interesting oasis for some older folks who are really happy to see something new & different.
We have made allot of older people Laugh & Smile !

Hey well done Nick
That's great, Nick. I try & make my old father look at the forum but he doesn't seem so interested as the Esteemed Judges are - clearly I don't have your touch!

I bribe these people with FOOD Rose ... LOL.
I hit a couple of bakerys & stock up on goodie to ply the people with carbs & fattening treats they don't get from the HOME. They don't get out much so ... its my way of spoiling them a little.
I think your Papa would be a hard nut to crack with goodies !
That's true enough! I've tried bribing him with episodes of 'The Shield' but I guess it doesn't have the same effect as a doughnut.

ARE YOU CRAZY PIE MAN ?
I go there to visit & have a nice chat with these people.
The EGB would be freaking them out. Running back & forth ... asking for '' TREATS '' cause she's STARRRRRRRRRVING & we never feed her. She would be making noise & dancing asking for the bathroom ... pawing through peoples belongings & touching everything she shouldn't touch. Then there would be me saying ... '' come here .. sit down .. are you listening to me ? NO ... Stop it. Put that down ... don't touch that ... where are you ? Where did she go ? WHAT THE HELL ? '' Then I would scream in frustration.
It's against the law to tie little kids up & force them to sit in a chair with a hand towel in their mouth ... isn't it ?
Thank God EGB's Papa takes her up to the cottage each weekend ... where the kid can annoy her own Grandparents & make them scream in frustration.
I don't wish that child hurricane on anybody .....

That would be nice ... 24 hour medical care, should I need it. Laundry done ... no house cleaning to do ... my own kinky electric adjustable bed ... just shower & dress myself & show up in the dining room 3 times a day. Watch TV or surf the net on my puter. No shopping, no worry's about the house, no life. Ya ... I like it ! She can leave me there I won't cry or complain.
Best off ... NO KID. Unless I agree to a 1/2 hour visit. Once every 6 months or so.
