She is called Kira, and is 18 weeks now. I also have 3 guinea pigs, a rabbit, 2 rats, and of course Billy our new Budgie. I'm also kept busy with 4 children between the ages of 18 months and 11 years, and we home-educate them, but wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks for sharing your family with us :)

Aww, puppy picks! Lisa, your JRT is so sweet! And Jules, your spaniel pup is just lovely. One of my horses is called Kira!

Is it OK if I join in too?

We have a german shepherd, who is nine, but we also now have a british inuit pup.

This was them in August:

Your furkids are beautiful Jenna.

Kira is adorable Jules!

Here's my foster furkid, Macy. I have had her about seven weeks now. She is seven months old and is a Brittany Spaniel/Labrador Retriever cross.

Hi - why 'foster' Tammie?

I do volunteer work for my local Humane Society. Fostering allows me to help many animals, so I do that rather than adopting just one. I recently lost my furkid, Savannah. She was my best friend for nine years. I wasn't ready to get another dog so I began fostering. Perhaps when enough time as passed I will find another "best friend". I have also fostered hundreds of kittens. Some even had to be bottled fed. Those are the most difficult to give up. We make certain all the animals go to good homes, so Macy will be with me til the right home comes along.

Wow - what a great thing to do. I can imagine that it is difficult to give them up but then, providing a good home has been found, you can then help another animal in need. Brilliant.

We have rescued just one dog! Not in your league. She was five, fat, and distrusted all humans in trousers (we can only imagine why). When we brought her home she didn't bark for days and it took her three weeks to wag her tail. Nine years later (now 14) she is completely devoted to my husband (and quite likes me!) and moves round rather slowly now. But she is healthy and happy - which is all we can ask.

Keep up the good work...
