Do you mean it broke when she laid it or she broke it sitting on it.I have a hen in at the moment who laid 2 eggs in the box and smashed them-gave her a pebble to sit on-to get used to sitting on them-now she has 6 eggs and so far 4 have growing chicks inside-the first is due to hatch on the 28/29th Sept.

GOOD news heffo layed 3 more eggs but the 1st one broke when she was on her perch it fell on the ground it was bigger than i thought
