Good job :)
question: Don't the 'tiels make a lot of noise outdoors? Mine are really noisy indoors and I'd be scared to have them outdoors for fear of neighbours complaining about the noise LOL

The Cockatiels burly make any noise outside, we used to have a huge avairy before with hundreds of cockatiels/budgies/finches/canaries and begaliese and the neighbours never complained, they're quite nice to be honest.
I have a Quail and it makes the odd very loud noise and about 2am last night I was nodding off to sleep and I heard the quail scream and I was like....:o the neighbours, but they never complained before so I don't see why they'd complain now. I used to have 4 loud barking dogs and they never complained then, I now only have one dog so its all good.

You are very lucky, when my aviary is finished i don't think my neighbours will be so accommodating. They fuss at the slightest thing Hubby said tough they are birds they should be heard outside, and if the neighbours don't want to hear birds they should be living underground. They gave me a stone over the fence once and said it didn't match any in their garden were talking 60 odd foot long by 30 foot wide here and a stone did not match. We also have a Hedgehog family living in the bottom of our pampas grass in the back garden when they found out they told a neighbour "do you know that was our hedgehog" I didn't think hedgehogs belonged to anybody. I forgot to say they are elderly too around 70s. I shall let you know how we get on when the larger aviary is up and running.

You win some, you lose some, the same with neighbours as anything else, I guess. A few years back, we had a pair of tiels that we used to put outside (in their cage) on nice summer days. The male had a habit of wolf-whistling at the neighbour across the road (male also, lol). For the longest time, he couldn't figure out who was whistling at him!:D He was nice, though....got quite a kick out of it once he knew.:)

yes some neighbours can be difficult but others can also be good friends in times of need.

Theres a lot of dogs around us here and to be honest more people complain about the noise they make than my birds. It does help having one neighbour who's husband kept parrots on one side and the other side is a former budgie breeder:p
