Hi guys,
For some reason I get loged out of the forum quite quickly and it seems to happen when I have just done a lengthy text in a post. And if I do get it posted when I go back to search/new post etc. I'm loged out.. It is very frustrating.. Any thoughts.

I've noticed the same problem, Andy. Maybe it's our moderators' way of telling us not to be too long-winded?? Seriously though, it IS frustrating, especially if you're trying to attach pics etc., or taking the time to describe things properly, only to find you're logged out & have to do it all again!:(

could be a 'memory' problem Barrie, give your computer a good clear out

Not a forum setting, I think it must be related to your computer dealing with cookies, perhaps clearing your cookies would be a good idea and then freshly log in and it shoudl be much improved.

To clear cookies in IE, instructions are here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/using/howto/customizing/clearcache.mspx")
and instructions for Firefox are here (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies) (under the Removing Cookies header)

it is to do with the refresh rate, the way around it is to click the remember me button beside your username at log in, do be carefully that nobody else posts under your name though, that or if you are going to be away from the computer click veiw online before you go as it keeps updating and lets the computer think your still active

I'll have to remember that about ticking the box & try it. Thanks, fellas.:)

Gar, sorry I'm ignorant, but "view online"? It's not under View on my browser bar....I have Work Offline under the File section, is that what you mean? (Doesn't sound right to me.)

He means down at the bottom of the forum, where the active users are listed. You can click it and it'll show a more detailed list of the active users and which thread they are viewing etc. This list refreshes automatically.

And you told ME to stick to MY day job- the words- Kettle, black and bottom come to mind.. But I'm a forgiving type of person.. It is frustrating..
