Brething Problem

We have a female bird about six years old, just lately she has been making klicking noises when she breaths and she has her beak open most of the time and her beak looks very pale we have been to the vets and she put her on a course of antibiotics but they do'nt seem to be having any affect. Can anyone help?

Problems with budgies are very hard to diagnose. The clicking sounds like it could be a nasal infectionwith some kind of discharge blocking her airway slightly. Keep up the medication and see what happens. sorry i can't be of more help.

Looks like the vet thinks it's a respiratory infection, which would have been my first guess. If you don't see some improvement in a day or two, you might want to check back with the vet. In the meantime, keep the bird warm and quiet and try to get her to eat and drink.
