Help in identifying mutation of my new birds

Hi All,

Last weekend I got a pair of Lacewing and Violet Budgie, but interested to know whether the below 2 birds are really of violet mutation or exactly what is the mutation. Breeder from whom I got these birds told me that after there first moult, violet will be more visible.

In this picture they look like cobalt mutation


We can see violet near the neck portion:


I was looking for very similar to the below Violet Budgie (picture taken from internet):



Whether my new birds after there first moult, they will look like the above Violet Budgie? Thanks

After A PROMPT FROM WACCOE those "lacewings " look more like fallows , a lacwing should have a clear tail with a cinnamon shaft.

Hmm...Barrie both parents for the white budgie with dark brown wing markings are Lacewing (with Pink foot, pale violet/pink cheek patches), so I think the babies of this pair can't be a fallow.....but I may be wrong too.

Actually I have started this new separate topic to get more info about the blue/violet budgies, please provide with your comments.

Yes Barrie. But my question is that whether the two birds of violet/cobalt in the below picture will look as above violet colour after there first moult:

lol Barrie, I'm Wacky One of the "lacewings" looks like a normal lacewing(brown markings, tail, purple cheek patches) but the other one has a violet tail?

karthik, I'm not too sure on this but I've seen budgies' colors go more vibrant after their first molt? I guess this will also apply to violets

May depend on whether or not the young are visual violets. The violet budgie above would be a visual violet or violet cobalt. Violet in the Skyblue and Mauve, darken the colur of the budgie, but doesn't produce the same intense colouring that is found in the violet cobalt

Jake per my knowledge I think Violet is dominent and it should be visible in Body colour right....how come Lacewing Budgie tale alone.

Bruce what is the exact mutation called for the adult male budgie picture which I have posted previously in my initial response from internet. Also how we can visually differentiate between a visual violet and cobalt violet at the fledgling stage of chicks.

Most of the previously posted pictures are taken with flash and so today I have taken few more pictures without flash. Please let me know your thoughts.
